MATEXT has built a library of high-resolution photographs of physical materials, all captured in our own studios across Switzerland. This dataset includes hundreds of surfaces — stone, concrete, metal, brick, and more — photographed under controlled conditions for consistency and quality.
Based on this dataset, we’ve developed an AI-based system that allows users to generate basecolor, normal, roughness and displacement maps. All outputs are tileable by design and exportable in 4K resolution, making them suitable for use in production workflows across gaming, visualization, architecture and VFX.
Unlike many existing solutions, our models are trained exclusively on data we own and control. No scraping, no synthetic datasets — just real, high-quality material scans. This makes the platform reliable from both a visual and legal perspective.
The interface is simple: select a material, choose a variation or color shift, and generate the maps you need. No prompts, no coding, and no post-processing required.
We’re currently finalizing development and preparing for a public launch in summer 2025.
