Matext vs Arroway Textures
Arroway is the classic archviz texture house — floors, facades, high-res stills. Matext overlaps that job and adds Logic packs, Torch, Studio, and a Hub.
The short version
Arroway has been the default name on architecture floors and elevations for a long time: very large, carefully shot textures. That is a real overlap with Organic and Logic.
If you already own Arroway and only ever drop a facade bitmap into V-Ray, you may not need us. If you want a complete PBR set, a Hub library, Torch, or a custom brief, that is Matext.
Side by side
| Aspect | Matext | Arroway Textures |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A materials factory: photographed Organic surfaces, Logic PBR sets, Torch generation, and Studio custom work — in one Hub. | A veteran archviz texture catalog — floors, walls, roofs, ground — sold as high-resolution packs. |
| Best when | You want complete PBR, Hub, generation, or custom production — not only a still of a facade. | You need a huge, traditional architecture texture and you already know the Arroway naming. |
| Maps | Logic ships complete PBR sets at 2K, 4K, and 8K. Organic is raw photographic material (1,500+ published). | High-res color (and supporting maps depending on the pack). Built as textures first, not a Hub. |
| AI / custom | Studio takes a production brief. Atlas covers capture-oriented workflows. Torch varies owned captures. | Packs you buy. Not a custom studio or a generator. |
| Where you work | Web Hub, desktop (macOS, Windows, Linux), and plugins (Blender is the production connector; others are beta). | Any renderer that takes large bitmaps. No first-party Hub. |
When to pick Matext
You want Logic as a full PBR set, Organic as a photographed library you browse in Hub, or Studio / Torch.
When Arroway is the better fit
You already have the Arroway disk/library and the job is “that parquet, that brick,” with no need for Hub, AI, or a brief.
FAQ
Do you replace Arroway floors?
Sometimes the job is the same. We will not claim every Arroway SKU has a Matext twin.
Is Organic just another texture CD?
No. It lives in Hub with Logic, Torch, and Studio.
Archviz only?
Architecture is a core audience. CGI and interiors too.
