If you need scanned nature and trees inside Unreal on Fab, stay on Megascans. If you need portable PBR, a Studio brief, or a studio scan of an object you own, that is Matext. We do not out-scan Quixel.
The short version
People search “Megascans alternative”, “Quixel alternative”, and “Fab Megascans”. Megascans is Epic’s scan library on Fab — vegetation, trims, 3D assets, Unreal-first.
Matext is not that library. Organic is 1,500+ studio photographs. Atlas is a commissioned studio scan of a sample or object you ship, typically 10M+ polygons and 32K maps. That is a service, not a Megascans-scale vault.
Stay on Fab when
You are building a Megascans forest or modular environment in Unreal, you already claimed the library, and Fab licensing matches the show. Bridge / Fab is where that asset already lives.
Come to Matext when
You work in Blender or more than Unreal. You need a complete Logic PBR set at 2K / 4K / 8K. You want a Studio brief or a scan of an object you own. You are not trying to replace Quixel’s nature kits.
